Isipatana register fifth outright win

Isipatana College cruised to their fifth outright victory this season when they trounced President’s College by 93 runs in their inter school under 19 cricket tournament match concluded at Colts grounds in Havelock Park yesterday.

ISIPATANA: 177 and 125 for 8 decl (N. Sasanka 24, P. Vimukthi 19, S. Premaratne 25, L. Pathirana 4 for 27, S. Vimukthi 4 for 40).

President’s College: 136 and 73 (S. Vimukthi 31, S. Premaratne 2 for 16, S. Sulochana 3 for 23, A. Samaratunga 2 for 7).

Thurstan beat Kingswood

Leg spinner Chatuka Gamage took a match bag of ten wickets to help Thurstan College beat Kingswood College Kandy outright by seven wickets in their inter school under 19 cricket tournament match concluded at Reid Avenue yesterday.

Kingswood: 208 and 96 (M. Kumara 27, P. Dharmaprema 23, C. Gamage 4 for 23, I. Massalage 2 for 13, S. Kamaleen 3 for 13).

Thurstan: 223 for 8 decl (S. Kamaleen 93, N. Darshana 20, P. Arthavindu 30, P. Dharmaprema 5 for 60) and 82 for 3 (N. Darshana 30 n.o, S. Kamaleen 27, P. Hettige 2 for 27).

Sparkling century by Chatura

Opener Chatura Damith hammered a sparkling century from just 45 deliveries inclusive of five sixes and 14 boundaries to guide Kalutara MV to a splendid five wicket outright victory over Maliyadeva College in their inter school under 19 cricket tournament match conclude at Kurunegela yesterday.

Maliyadeva: 186 (D. Madumal 47, G. Manishan 42, N. Karunaratne 27, D. Madushanka 4 for 34, N. Dulinda 4 for 58) and 203 for 9 decl (P. Madumal 69, N. Karunaratne 44, N. Alwis 24 n.o, I. Drashana 4 for 32, C. Damith 2 for 53, D. Madushanka 2 for 68).

Matheesha (6/46) wrecks Rajans

Off spinner Matheesha Perera returned excellent figures of six wickets for 46 to help Ananda College to dismiss Dharmaraja College Kandy for 164 runs in their first innings on the opening day of their inter school under 19 cricket tournament match which commenced at Ananda Mawatha yesterday.

Dharmaraja: 164 (B. Ekanayake 62, S. Kalubowila 25, M. Perera 6 for 46, S. Perera 2 for 30).

Ananda: 122 for 5 (D. Chandimal 37, S. Devage 28, P. de Silva 2 for 34).

Maneesha (4/51) contains Wesley

Maneesha Thanthirigoda claimed four wickets for 51 to help Royal College dismiss Wesley College for 198 runs in their first innings on the opening day of their inter school under 19 cricket tournament match which began at Reid Avenue yesterday.

Wesley: 198 (P. Samarasekera 35, R. Suriyakumara 37, T. Karunaratne 39 n.o, D. Wijesinghe 22, M. Thanthirigoda 4 for 51) v Royal.
