Two Tigers killed in Pottuvil

Two Tigers were killed when the STF ambushed an LTTE convoy in Lahugala area, Pottuvil yesterday morning.

"On information of a Tiger movement in the Lahugala area, the STF ambushed and gunned down two LTTE cadres around 7.15am", Military spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara said. Troops observed an LTTE hiding place in Old Farm area, Lahugala and attacked the Tiger position killing two LTTE cadres and recovered their weapons, he added.

In a subsequent search operation, the STF found two T56 assault riffles, two magazines, two hand grenades, a Global Positioning System and a cyanide capsule.
