Most Czechs against US radar
PRAGUE: Some two thirds of Czechs are against the stationing of a US
radar base in the Czech Republic, according to a poll conducted by the
polling institute CVVM in January and released on Wednesday.
The opposite view is held by 29 percent of Czechs, and the balance
has been stable in the long run.
According to the poll, the idea to station the U.S. radar base in the
Czech Republic was opposed by 65 percent of Czechs, the same percentage
as in December.
The poll also showed that most Czechs believe that a referendum
should be held to decide on the radar base. The view is shared by 72
percent of Czechs, two percentage points more than in the previous poll.
