Prabhakaran will have to pay for attacking Dalada Maligawa-
President
In a few days, Prabhakaran will have to pay compensation for
attacking the Dalada Maligawa and the Sri Maha Bodhi, said President
Mahinda Rajapaksa addressing a UPFA rally at Getambe in Kandy.
No force on earth would stop the dynamic march of the Nation today,
he added.
The large crowd that is attending this rally is a testimony to the
historic victory that the UPFA would get in the forthcoming Provincial
Council election, the President said.
This is not an ordinary election. This is an election which would
strengthen the historic victory that war heroes are giving to the
nation.
This election will decide whether we could carry forward the victory
of the war heroes or not, added the President.
The President promised the people of Kandy that he would restore
everything they lost in 1815. In addition to the development of the
city, we would also uplift the moral standards of the population, the
President emphasised.
We have allocated millions of rupees to develop the up-country. Our
development plans would benefit 1.7 million families. We have developed
hospitals including those at Naula, Dambulla, and Rikillagaskada.
We have provided computer facilities to over 250 schools in the
Central Province. Over 6,000 Tamil medium teachers have been appointed
to the estate schools.
The President asked the people to look at these developments and vote
for the batal leaf symbol on February 14.
