Wayamba Handa on air from tomorrow

The SLBC will inaugurate the new Wayamba Service tomorrow with the broadcasting of President Mahinda Rajapaksa's address to the people in Kurunegala from Maligapitiya grounds.

According to Wayamba Handa Director Gamini Wijewardena, President's address at the Maligapitiya Janahamuwa will be first aired by the Service via FM 96.6 frequency.

This Service, a brainchild of Media and Information Minister Anura Priyadarshana Yapa is expected to disseminate news and information pertaining to the development of agriculture, fisheries and industrial sector, he said. He said Wayamba Handa is the first service to be launched from Kurunegala for the people in the Province.

"This Service will focus on the development news and new programmes have also been planned to attract more listeners," Wijewardena said. (CP)
