Deyata Kirula portrays Lankan heritage and pride - President
President Mahinda Rajapaksa in a message of greetings to mark today's
opening of the Deyata Kirula exhibition said he valued it as a national
exhibition which portrayed Sri Lankan Heritage and pride and imparted
knowledge to the sons and daughters of the motherland.
The message said the Government through Mahinda Chinthana had
launched massive development schemes to build a new Sri Lanka.
The Government which identified its duty to be transparent in its
deeds organised the Deyata Kirula exhibition to create public awareness
about its policies and services to the people.
The main objective of the Deyata Kirula exhibition is to seek the
active contribution of the future generation towards development
activities by educating them on the Government's development programs
and its objectives in the economic, social and cultural fields.
The President in his message added that he highly valued the
contribution received from all Ministries, Departments, Provincial
Councils and Local Government Institutions in organising this national
event.
"Educating the people about the victories achieved by us during the
last three years and projects to be implemented in future is in essence
a portrayal of the country's way forward.
The Deyata Kirula exhibition is truly a mirror reflecting the
Government's future path," the President said.
I wish the endeavour made to showcase the country's achievements
during the last three years through Deyata Kirula all success.
