Police ruggerite Nilusha remanded
Last year's Police skipper and Sri Lanka ruggerite Nilusha Fernando
was remanded after he was produced before the Mount Lavinia Magistrate
by the Moratuwa Police for allegedly being in the company of a friend
who was involved in a shooting incident in Lunawa, Moratuwa on Tuesday
night.
Fernando who was riding a motor cycle had stopped the bike to talk to
a friend who was in a parked car when the pillion rider's gun had gone
off accidentally injuring the motorist who was rushed to the National
Hospital, Colombo and is now in the Intensive Care Unit.
Nilusha has been representing the Police rugby team since 2003 and
captained the team last year and also donned the Sri Lanka Jersey at the
Asian Five Nations Tournament in Chinese Taipei in November last year.
