TMVP member killed in Batticaloa

A TMVP member was killed as one of it's offices located in Killiveddi, Batticaloa came under a suspected LTTE attack on Saturday night.

Due to retaliatory fire two suspected LTTE cadres who had participated in the attack too had been killed, Police sources said. One civilian was injured as well in the incident and the Eravur Police had launched a thorough investigation in to the incident, Police said.

Meanwhile authorities said that 97 civilians belonging to 27 families who had fled tiger clutches had sought refuge with Authorities.
