Sumathipala, re-elected ACBC President

Renowned social activist Jagath Sumathipala was unanimously elected as the President of All Ceylon Buddhist Congress (ACBC) for the second consecutive year, during the Annual General Meeting held at ACBC headquarters yesterday.

Prof. Praneeth Abeysundara got elected as the Deputy President. Ten Vice Presidents were also appointed. They are: Rear Admiral Sarath Piyananda Weerasekara, Sunil Sarath Kuragama, Anura Gunadasa, M. Roshan Sampath Perera, Chandra Nimal Wakista, Nanda Pieris Kaluthanthree, Sanath Mahesh de Ruberu Gunasekara, Prof. Kapithan Meegarade Soysa, A.W.H. Suranimala and Dr. Rani Fernando. Meanwhile, Major General Jaliya Nammuni and Ranjith Ekanayake were appointed as Associate Secretaries.

Abeyratne Wasantha de Silva was elected as the Treasurer of ACBC while D. Upul Roopasinghe and Brigadier Chandra Jayaraj Kottachchi were appointed as Assistant Secretaries.
