The Education Ministry will mete out justice to the Principals in Grade II, Class II at the Principals' Service, if Court decides the Principals have been discriminated.

The Ministry on the advice of Minister Susil Premayantha will cancel the promotions given to Principals in Grade II Class II of the Principals' Service if Court decides that some had been discriminated.

A case has been filed by some principals who were denied promotions. These Principals were to be appointed to Provincial and National Schools throughout the country by the Education Ministry from January based on the results of a written test and interviews.

Applications were called for promotions in 2005. An islandwide written examination was conducted by the Examinations Department in 2006 and the interviews were held at provincial level, recently.

Selected candidates were to be promoted in January 2009. However, it has been stated that the Examinations Department was not involved in the selection process.
