350 doctors for North and East
Three hundred and fifty Medical Officers appointed to Hospitals in
the North and East will assume duties soon, Government Medical Officers,
Association (GMOA) Assistant Secretary Upali Gunasekara stated.
Following the gunning down of a Medical Officer attached to the
Nawatkadu Hospital, the Medical Officers attached to the hospital did
not report to duty as a mark of protest.
Security has now been beefed up and the Government has also improved
other basic facilities for the newly appointed Medical Officers.
With the new appointments, there will be a considerable improvement
in the medical facilities provided in the North and East. |
