Impress upon Israel to stop Gaza violence Mowlana appeals to world
leaders
Western Province Governor Alavi Mowlana yesterday urged world leaders
impress upon Israeli leaders to halt inflicting suffering on the people
of Gaza.
Issuing a release he said:
It is very disappointing to note that Israeli jets are pounding on
Gaza causing immense damages to lives and limbs of innocent children,
women and elderly. The belligerent attitude of Israeli authorities
defies the accepted norms in warfare situation.
It has to respect the convention's that civilised nations have
imposed upon themselves.
The sufferings and miseries that the Palestinians have undergone for
the last six decades have to end now. Enough to enough Israelis have
been riding rough shod over the hapless Arabs since 1948.
"It is very difficult to think the conscience of the civilised and
modern world has not yet fully awoken. The historic injustice caused to
the Arabs to cover up the Europe's misdoings by the Jews is still not
corrected.
Arabs have become sacrificial lambs. How long this drama could go on?
World cannot shrug this issue saying this concerns the Muslim and Arab
part of the World.
Every person who stands for justice, freedom and liberty whichever
part he hails from should stand up to say this bullying must stop.
"The World is depicted as so humane, when animals such as seals and
whales are hunted. Where has this human kindness gone when our fellow
citizens are butchered without impunity.
I appeal to the good sense of world leaders to impress upon the
Israeli leaders to stop this at once.
I also appeal to all religions to pray for the peaceful settlement of
the conflict. |
