Chikungunya spreads

The deadly epidemic, Chikungunya fever is fast spreading in Embilipitiya, Medical sources claimed. Sabaragamuwa Provincial Director of Health Services Dr. Kapila Kannangara said 700 patients have been tested positive of Chikungunya in Embilipitiya and its outskirts.

The areas threatened are Embilipitiya new town area, Moraketiya Gageyaya Pallegama and Omalpe. Dr. Kannangara said an extensive campaign has been launched in these areas to prevent the further spread of the disease.
