Wedding guests affected by food poisoning

Twenty eight persons who attended a wedding at a hotel in the Ranmuthugala area have been admitted to the Ragama Hospital due to food poisoning.

Most of those hospitalised are women and children who were admitted with severe stomach pains, the Deputy Director of the Hospital Dr. Lalitha Gurusinghe said.

Food samples from the hotel have been sent to the Mahara District Medical Officer for a report.

The conditions of the patients are not critical.
