NFF to field 10 candidates

National Freedom Front (NFF) General Secretary Nandana Gunatilake
addressing the media at its Headquarters, said they had unanimously
decided to contest under the UPFA symbol at the forthcoming Wayamba and
Central Provincial Council elections.
He said that an unanimous decision was taken following the memorandum
of understanding signed with the UPFA at Temple Trees on Sunday. Ten
candidates have been nominated by the NFF to Matale, Kandy, Nuwaraeliya,
Kurunegala and Puttalam districts.
Accordingly, Political Committee Member Senaratne de Silva, Sarath
Irugal Bandara, Mahinda Bakmeewewa and Dharma Sri Ratnayake will contest
the Kurunegala District. Jagath Priyankara and Kalinga Sarath Perera
have been nominated for the Puttalam District. Central Committee Member
Nuwan Sri Tissa will contest Nuwaraeliya.
Aravinda Wanniarachchi to the Matale District and Nanda Ratne
Dissanayake and Nisantha Subasiri for Kandy.
Those who contest the Wayamba and Central Provincial Council
Elections signed the nomination papers at the Presidential Secretariat
yesterday.
The NFF will contest a future general election with the UPFA,
Gunatilake said.
