Lighting it up in Ambagamuwa

Measures have been taken by the Ambagamuwa Pradeshiya Sabha to illuminate 11 towns in the PS area in the Nuwara Eliya district with new street lamps at night.

The Nuwara Eliya district Parliamentarian and the Minister of Youth Empowerment and Socio-Economic Development Arumugam Thondaman has funded a sum of Rs. 5,000,000 for illumination of the towns whose streets were not properly lit during the past several years.

Accordingly 350 new street lamps are to be installed in the towns of Ginigathena, Watawala Vidulipura (Norton Bridge), Maskeliya, Upcot (Samimale), Bogawantalawa, Norwood, Puliyawatte, Watawala, Delhouse (Nallathanni), Honcy and Tinsin.

The Chairman of the Ambagamuwa PS G. Naguleswaran told the Daily News that he was thankful to Minister Thondaman for funding the illumination of the towns maintained by his PS and it would not only benefit the people turning upto the towns during the night time but also give a new face-lift to the towns.
