A new private hospital 'Sadisma' was opened last week at Malabe. The
management has invested Rs. 220 million for this three-storied complex.
Business Development Manager, 'Sadisma' hospital, Shehan Sisira said
that this is a fully-fledged hospital with all modern facilities.
"We have two operating theaters, Intensive care unit, three luxury
rooms, eight deluxe rooms and 25 ward beds and an OPD," he said.
The management has also invested in high tech equipment and hopes to
obtain BoI status for their next phase that will commence in May and
would be ready by the end of 2009.
"Under this five more floors would be added with additional beds and
a maternity section," he said.
He said that one of the main objectives of building this hospital is
to discourage patients from coming to Colombo for treatment.
"We are getting all the specialists that visit other hospitals in
Colombo and patients are assured the same service," he said.
Managing Director of 'Sadisma' Hospital Dr. Manjula Senarath,
speaking to Daily News Business said they are also introducing a new
concept where they bring the hospital to the home. "Our mobile medical
team is fully equipped to attend patients at home," Senarath said.
"We hope this concept would be patronized by people in the area who
do not have such facilities," Dr. Senarath said.
Presently the hospital is functioning with 30 staff members and is
expected to expand to Hambantota later.
"We would tie up with a Malaysian investor for this project,"
Senarath said.
