NHDA second PPP project in Yakkala
The Second project of the Public Private Partnership Programme (PPP)
of National Housing Development Authority (NHDA) will be commenced in
January at Yakkala Siyane Uyana.

Under the guidance of Minister of Housing and Common Amenities Ferial
Ashraff, PPP programme is planned to implement with the financial and
technical assistance of local and foreign investors to bring together
experience and resources of the public and private sector to provide
service to the public at the best value of the money.
Under this concept this project will be implemented on a land owned
by the NHDA and the developers will provide their financial and
technical inputs to the project. Planning and implementation of the
project will be done by the developers in consultation with the NHDA.
In this concept while assuring the State sector land based
investment, the houses will be offered to the needy from affordable
rates making uses of the finances of the national and international
investors on a large scale.
With the second project of the PPP, 70 houses will be constructed in
Yakkala Siyane Uyana housing project at a cost of Rs. 120 million.
The construction work of the project will be done by ADI Holdings and
an agreement of this project were signed by the NHDA and ADI Holdings
recently at NHDA Head Office, Colombo.
The Chairman of NHDA Mohamed Rafeek signed the agreement on behalf of
the NHDA and Chairman of ADI Holdings Kithsiri Dandeniya has signed on
behalf of the ADI Holdings.
Deputy General Manager (Housing/Information and Publicity) L. S.
Palansuriya, Deputy General Manager (PDM) W. Sarath Kumara and Senior
Manager (Legal) S. K. Pushpa Rihini of NHDA also participated.
Dandeniya, said that they will complete this project within 08 months
time which will commence the construction work on the early part of
January 2009.
