Former Cambrian skipper Lakdasa here on holiday

Lakdasa Gunatilleke who captained Prince of Wales College Cricket team in 1958 is now domiciled in England. He has returned to Sri Lanka on a short holiday.

He will be long remembered for his superb innings against Indian Combined Schools when they played a cricket match with Moratuwa Combined Schools at De Soysa Park, Moratuwa. The Indian skipper who later represented India Milkha Singh presented his bat to Lakdasa for his feat. The Cambrians recorded the highest score of the Big Match series against St. Sebastians - 415 for 9 declared under his captaincy. He could be contacted on 2848385 or would be met at 68, Maha Mega Road, Maharagama.
