Indian Minister commends Lanka's health sector

All South East Asian countries should commend Sri Lanka's health sector and the country's capabilities of acquiring top positions in world organisations such as the World Health Organisation (WHO).

Even though Sri Lanka is a very small country on the world map it is an attractive country that has gained the top post of the WHO. It is also a very commendable for Sri Lanka's Healthcare and Nutrition Minister to visit India in the middle of the Mumbai terror attack, Indian Health Minister Ram Das said.

Ram Das who is the son of Tamil nadu MP V. Ram Das also said that Minister de Silva visited India to take part in the World Diabetics Conference organised by the WHO in the middle of a major terror attack in Mumbai. Minister Ram Das has expressed his confidence in the humanitarian operation of the Sri Lankan Government and that it will bring lasting peace for Sri Lanka where people of all ethnicities will be able to live in harmony.

He had extended the support of the Indian Government towards the Sri Lankan Government.

Minister de Silva explained to Minister Ram Das about the Sri Lankan Government's fight against terrorism. He also pointed out that the present Government's stability and strength will be proved when the Budget is passed with a majority. He has stressed that the Government can win any election including a General Election with ease because the Government is strong and the Opposition is losing its vote base day by day.

Minister de Silva informed Minister Ram Das that the Sri Lankan Government will hold the relevant Provincial Council Elections in time and no General Election will be held before the due date.
