100 teachers recruited to SLTES

The Ministry of Education recruited 100 teachers to the Sri Lanka Teacher Educators Service (SLTES) recently.

The names of 100 teachers have been released on the web of the Ministry of Education.

Sixty six teachers are from the Sinhala Medium and 34 teachers from the Tamil Medium.

The breakdown of teachers selected are as follows:

Professional subject - 20, First Language -31, Second language - 2, Art - 2, Agriculture -08, Maths - 14, Buddhism - 15, Hinduism - 3, Christianity - 1, Library and Information Technology - 4. They will be attached to the College of Education and Teachers Training College as lecturers in future.

Sri Lanka Teacher Service is different from the Sri Lankan Teacher Education Service which is an All Island Service.

They will assume duties shortly.
