New CPC Chairman

COLOMBO: Major General (rtd) Asoka Thoradeniya has been appointed Chairman of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation to succeed Asantha De Mel who resigned from the post last week in compliance with a Supreme Court Order.

The Supreme Court last week suspended the appointment of CPC chairman de Mel after a right plea filed in the public interest against the oil hedging agreement was taken up for hearing last week.
