National handicrafts exhibition held

The National Craft Council under the patronage of Rural Industries and Self-Employment Promotion Ministry held 'Shilpa-2008' handcrafts exhibition from October 23 to 26 at the BMICH.

The 'Shilpa-2008' handicrafts exhibition reflected the hereditary workmanship of handicrafts artistes scattered across the country and attracted both local and foreign buyers.

The handicrafts artistes who have won first, second, third merit awards in the regional level showcased their creations at the exhibition.

Around 1,000 handicrafts products which have won artistic awards this year had been selected for display at the exhibition.

Among them the handicrafts with the best artistic creations winning the Presidential Sawana awards and national awards for the first, second third were selected.
