National dressage competition on Sunday
The Sri Lanka Equestrian Association (SLEA) the promotion and
improvement of Equestrian sport has organised several horse shows,
endurance competitions and dressage competitions in the past. The latest
on its program is the National Dressage Competition to be held on
Sunday, December 7, 2008.
The National Dressage Competition will be a test of skills of riders
and their horses. The competitors will be given an outline of the track
and the paces at which they are to move from one point to another on the
riding arena. They will be tested on posture, control and the speed at
which they complete their event.
The much anticipated competition will be held at the Premadasa Riding
School Arena, 11/12, Melder Place, Nugegoda commencing at 3.00 p.m. The
card of events is as follows.
3.00 p.m. - Standing Salute (demonstrated by Bhawan Singh and Horse-Mummal)
- Demonstration of horse gaits (Rider Bhawan Singh and Horse-Chandrika)
3.15 p.m. - Group B: Children above 12 years and Adults at Beginner
level
3.45 p.m. - Group C: Children above 12 years and Adults at
Preliminary level
4.15 p.m. - Group A: Children below 12 years
4.45 p.m. - Group D: Veterans at Preliminary level
5.00 p.m. - Fellowship
5.15 p.m. - Horse Dancing (demonstrated by Bhawan Singh and Horse-Mummal)
5.30 p.m. - Horse Dancing (demonstrated by Bhawan Singh and Horse-Chandrika)
6.00 p.m. - Prize Distribution |
