Proctor appointed CSA convener of selectors
Mike Proctor has quit as an ICC match referee to become the convener
of selectors for Cricket South Africa.
Proctor, who officiated in 47 tests, 154 one-day internationals and
15 Twenty20 internationals since becoming a match referee in 2002, will
leave the ICC after the limited-overs matches between Pakistan and West
Indies and also Zimbabwe's series with Sri Lanka.
"On behalf of the ICC, I would like to thank Mike for his service as
an Emirates Elite Panel Match Referee," ICC chief executive Haroon
Lorgat said Monday in a statement. "Speaking from personal experience, I
know that his new role as CSA's convener of selectors, which he will
assume on 1 December, will be a challenging and rewarding one.
"However, I also know that Mike will bring to it all the cricket
wisdom he has acquired over more than 40 years of top-level involvement
... Mike carries with him the best wishes for the future of all those
associated with the ICC."
