Student assaulted for not attending tuition class

A grade four student at Gelioya Maha Vidyalaya who suffered injuries at the hands of a teacher from the same school has been admitted to Kandy General Hospital.

This student had been allegedly assaulted by the teacher for not attending his private tuition class meant for grade five scholarship examination. He was first admitted to the Gampola Hospital on October 21 and was later transferred to the Neuro Surgical Unit of the Kandy General Hospital.

It is alleged that two more students had already left this school due to the unbecoming conduct of this particular teacher.
