NORTEL - the Bangalore based International energy solution company introduced their energy solution equipment to the Sri Lanka market at a special meeting held at Hilton Colombo.

NORTEL sales Director Vinay Kumar said there is a real difference in the power consumption of NORTEL data products and CISCO equivalent products.

It is enough that if you replace all the CISCO gear in the world with NORTEL products. It is equivalent to twenty percent of the US automobiles in carbon emissions,' he said.

Introducing an energy efficient solution and strategies from NORTEL, he said that natural communication through, Telepresence, executive office, Desktop, Team room would be like taking a car completely off the road for an entire year.

He said that US, EPA estimated eleven percent of all electricity used passed through adapters, and 30-50 percent of power is lost in sucking electricity even when there is no device attached to be charged.
