Corruption in Lanka not rampant - Dr. Fernando
This is the best time to invest in Sri Lanka since the country has an
investor friendly Board of Investment (BoI) said entrepreneur Dr.
Neville Fernando. “Investor confidence is very high“ he said.
He said that he too signed an agreement with the BoI to invest $5
million in South Asian Institute of Technology and Management at
Kaduwela. “I was very happy in the manner in which the BoI Chairman and
the Board assisted me in this regard,” he said.
Chairman, BoI, Dhammika Perera had a long conversation with me
subsequent to the signing and he and promised to give me all assistance
i need to make the project a success,” Fernando further said.
“I have utmost confidence in my country and the campus that I will go
back to the country as I am not expecting to earn profits from my
venture.
This is a pay back to the country for what it did for me to have a
good life and now I am giving it back to the country,” he elaborated.
He said that corruption, which started after 1977 has now increased
but not rampant.
