BOC Annual Report wins Gold in New York
Bank of Ceylon had for the second time running been awarded Gold for
their Annual Report in the prestigious International ARC Awards.
Chairman Bank of Ceylon Dr. Gamini Wickramasinghe received the award
from Tracy Byrnes renowned reporter of the Fox Business Network.
ARC Awards are considered the most prestigious of the international
awards schemes for Annual Reports. This was the 22nd year of the
competition. Over 2000 entries vied for an ARC this year.
They included Fortune 500 companies, FTSE 100 companies plus the top
companies in their respective countries around the world. Only the top
25% scoring entries become eligible for a Gold, Silver, Bronze or Merit
Award at the ARC Awards. Gold and Silver awards are not given in every
category unless the entries reach the ARC standard.
The judging is conducted by a distinguished panel of judges from the
Annual Report Producing and Financial Analysts communities mainly from
the United States.
Among this year’s panel of Judges was Chairman, Smart Media Dr.
Vijith Kannangara. |
