Dharmapala in strong position

Dharmapala Vidyalaya, Pannipitiya were in a strong position against Prince of Wales' College, Moratuwa in their under-19 inter-school cricket match played at Moratuwa. Visitors bowled out the Cambrians for 173 runs and at the end of day one, they were 148 for 4.

For the homesters Shehan Jayasuriya top scored with 59 runs with eight fours and one six.

Hasitha Wickramasinghe ripped through the Cambrians batting line up with 5 for 62. Ishan Nadeesha batted well for Dharmapalians with 45 runs including six hits to the ropes.

Prince of Wales 173 (Shehan Dammalage 22, Nipuna Peiris 20, Thisara Ruwaruna 26, Shehan Jayasuriya 59, Hasitha Wickramasinghe 5 for 62, Sampath Hewage 3 for 35, Dilrukshan Jayasundara 2 for 20).

Dharmapala 148 for 4 (Isuru Nadeesha 45).
