Census in Western Province

Police in the Western Province conducted a census yesterday with a view to register all Easterners who have been residing in the Western Province during the past five years.

According to Police sources the census was conducted at 90 centres in the Western Province.

Police said that 4,449 people from, 1419 families were registered which was conducted from 8 am to 6 pm.

The census was welcomed by the people who had taken up residence in the Western Province who said they would be able to live with more freedom, security and happiness that they have been registered.
