Troops capture LTTE airstrip

Troops attached to the 57 Division yesterday captured an LTTE airstrip in Panikkankulam area, seven kilometres northwest of Mankulam, Military Spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara told the Daily News.

SBS destroys LTTE boats

The elite Special Boat Squadron (SBS) of the Sri Lanka Navy destroyed two LTTE boats and killed eight LTTE cadres in the seas, off the Kalmunai Point, Pooneryn on Monday around 11 p.m., the Navy said yesterday.

Crackdown on LTTE to prevent Tamil Nadu emerging as hub
