HNB assists Batticaloa vendors

The traditional cashew nut vendors in Batticaloa who have been uplifted by the Hatton National Bank, Batticaloa under their GPU Micro Finance scheme were donated with foldable tables and garden umbrellas recently in the presence of DGM - PB & NM and Chairman Bank with the Poor Network C. P. Abeyawickrema, Senior Regional Manager - North Eastern Region A. V. Beeadle, Manager - Batticaloa branch K. Rajendra and Manager Development G. Sakthibawan, along with the large gathering of the people in the area.

These traditional cashew nut vendors are payment hawkers and dealing with this business for generations for more than 40 years in Batticaloa town. The HNB identified them 12 years back and developed / trained them under their GPU Micro Finance scheme.
