Sampath Bank, for the 5th consecutive year, was designated as the "Official Banker" and this year too, the stall holders and the book lovers were able to enjoy many upgraded services along with deviced systems.

The "Colombo International Book Fair" has been gaining immense popularity among people of all walks of life in the island. This year the event was coupled with a special segment "Katapathpawura", an arterial wall built at the venue, where participants could write poems and were awarded with prizes for the best poems on daily basis.

As a compliment, the fee on entry tickets was waived off for children and personnel in the armed forces. Sampath hosted the awards for the winners of best poems in the children's category and is in the way forward to utilise the ticket collection mainly for the education/development of less privileged children.

Having the status of "Official Banker" Sampath Bank launched several new initiatives for the benefit of the book lovers who visited the exhibition such as special discounts offered to the Sampath Cards. Sampath card holders (Credit Card, Mini Debit Card, SET and X-SET) were offered a 5 per cent discount for the transactions done at the exhibition.
