Forged currency notes case :
Pakistanis, local directed to appear in Court on Nov. 5

The case against two Pakistani nationals and another taken into
custody in connection with allegedly possessing forged Indian currency
notes were yesterday directed to appear in Court on November 5 by
Colombo Fort Magistrate and Additional District Judge Gihan Pilapitiya.
The Court earlier ordered the two Pakistani nationals to furnish cash
bail in Rs. 25,000 each and a bond of Rs. 200,000 each with two
sureties. The Court also ordered the suspects to appear before the CID
every Sunday between 9 a.m. and 12 noon.
Fort Police told Court that they will obtain assistance from Indian
Police to ascertain whether the Indian notes recovered by the Police are
genuine.
The other suspect, Ruwan Rohan Srilal of Piliyandala remanded in
connection with the same offence was released earlier on bail in Rs.
25,000 and a bond of Rs.400,000 with a surety.
Fort police earlier produced three suspects before Court for
possessing forged Indian notes and remanded pending completion of
investigations.
Fort Police submitting a comprehensive report in connection with
investigations told court that a special Police team is investigating to
ascertain whether any other persons are involved in the note racket.
Fort Police found over Rs. 83 lakhs in Indian forged currency.
Granting bail, Court directed the two suspects to appear in Court again
on November 5.
