Direct flights to link Lumbini, Sri Lanka
New York: President Mahinda Rajapaksa held discussions with
Nepalese Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal on the sidelines of the 63rd
United Nations General Assembly Sessions on Wednesday afternoon.
During the meeting the two parties agreed to start a direct air link
between Lumbini and Sri Lanka said a communique issued by the
Presidential Media Unit.
President Rajapaksa on behalf of the Sri Lanka Government agreed to
assist Nepal’s health sector by improving health facilities within WHO
Co-operation and provide further training in Sri Lanka for Nepal’s
health sector personnel.
It was also agreed to provide opportunities for Nepalese Bhikkhus to
pursue Pirivena education in Sri Lanka, the Communique added.
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal said Nepal was keenly devoted to
development activities in the SAARC region. |
