Arrangements should be made to export finished goods by increasing
the export of value added goods and raw material. Action has been taken
to make value addition to raw material and provide employment to youth
by expanding industries coming under the Rural Industrial Development
Ministry, Minister S. B. Nawinna said.
He was speaking after inaugurating the Fibre Industrial Centre at
Maharachchimulla, in the Dambadeniya electorate.
"It is the responsibility of welfare societies and the evil community
to contribute to social services without seeking State support.
There are a number of profitable Government and private institutions
conducting business with the Government.
The country will develop if we could build roads, schools, hospitals
and libraries using that profit," Nawinna said.
North Western PC Councillor Shantha Bandara said if we want to earn
more money we should manufacture new products.
"That is why we have taken action to produce various fibre material
at this centre," he said. |
