Blast on rail track in Mt. Lavinia

Mount Lavinia: Police and Security Forces launched a massive search operation after a bomb explosion on the coastal rail track near De Saram Road, Mount Lavinia yesterday evening. No injuries or damage to property was reported.

The police began to question those who were in the vicinity soon after the explosion, According to Mount Lavinia SSP Hemantha Adhikari, over 200 g of C4 explosives have been used for the bomb. One track was slightly damaged. The train service was stopped from Dehiwala Railway Station temporarily last night.
