Chamal heads Parliamentary Privileges Committee

KOTTE: Irrigation and Water Management and Ports and Aviation Minister Chamal Rajapaksa has been appointed Priviledges Committee Chairman, Speaker W. J. M. Lokubandara said.

The Speaker also told Parliament that Rajapaksa was appointed Chairman of the Parliamentary Privileges Committee as Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickramanayaka resigned from the post.

The Speaker said this in response to UNP MP Ravi Karunanayake’s query on what steps had been taken by the Parliamentary Privileges Committee following the Prime Minister’s resignation from the post of the Chairman of the Parliamentary Privileges Committee.
