Plan Your Future: At Kurunegala

An educational and information technology trade fair "Plan Your Future" will be held at the Bright Bravo Hotel, Kurunegala from September 12-13.

The event is organised by the Old Boys' Association and the 91 Group of the Maliyadeva College, Kurunegala.

"A number of leading private and public sector professional and educational institutes will participate at the exhibition and the trade fair," Organising Committee Chairman Nandaka Pothuweva said.

Explaining the objectives, Nandaka said the exhibition would guide youth and students to determine a career path. Although annually, a large number of students pass-out from schools having sat their G.C.E. Advanced Level examinations in the Kurunegala district only a handful are able to secure entrance to Government universities, he noted. He added that the majority should select private institutions if they choose to continue their education offering various courses for their career development. However, it has been observed that most students are unable to find suitable programmes and institutions to achieve their individual goals due to the dearth of recognised entities within the district.
