Public lecture

A public lecture on “Financial Liberalisation and Macroeconomic Policy: The Indian Experience” by Prof. C P Chandrasekhar of the Centre for Economic Studies and Planning Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi on Thursday, September 18 at 5.00 p.m. will be held at the Auditorium of the Centre for Banking Studies, No.58, Sri Jayewardenepura Mawatha, Rajagiriya.

Prof. C P Chandrasekhar joined the Centre of Economic Studies & Planning of the Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi as an Assistant Professor in 1979. Subsequently he was promoted as an Associate Professor and Professor of the institute in 1997 which post he holds to date.

Customs seminar

The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, in association with the Department of Sri Lanka Customs, will organise a Seminar on Export and Import Procedures on September 29, from 08.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. at the “Kings Court”, Hotel Trans Asia, Colombo.

This is an ideal opportunity to learn import/export procedures from trade experts. Export Procedures, import procedure, export facilitation (Bonding and Warehousing Procedures) Goods Classification and valuation and the proposed re-structuring and future strategies of the Department of Customs are the topics which will be discussed at the seminar.
