Advanced management programme

The Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM) will be conducting an advanced management programme for company directors, for the benefit of members of the Sri Lanka Institute of Directors (SLID).

The programme is designed for directors of companies particularly younger directors or those appointed recently, who wish to acquire new knowledge and skills for providing leadership to their company’s growth and development. Participants will be eligible to receive the Advanced Certificate of Corporate Strategy and Management from PIM on the successful completion of the seven modules.

The programme will commence on September 29, 2008 and will be conducted over a period of 2 months targeting directors, especially those who have become members of the Board of Directors of a Company over the past 1-2 years.

Light House Hotel PLC has appointed Sanjeewa Anthony and Ranil de Silva as directors of the company.

Its Acuity and not Equity

Daily News Business page lead story of August 22, has inadvertently stated that the name of the joint venture investment banking company between DFCC and HNB as Equity Partners ( Pvt) Ltd. It should have read as Acuity Partners.

It was also reported in the same story that there was a tie up between the City Union Bank of India and the same company. However, the tie up is between City Union Bank and Hatton National Bank, one of the partners of Acuity Partners (Pvt) Ltd.
