Indian banking officials visit SANASA
Nineteen Senior Bank officials from India recently visited SANASA
Development Bank (SDBL) on a 10 day study tour.
The team was lead by Deputy General Manager of National Agriculture
and Rural Development (NABARD) A. R. Krishna Rao and the Chief Executive
Officers of number of leading commercial and development and
co-operative banks were amongst the team members.
The purpose of the visit was to gather insight information and the
systems and modules of “SANASA” in Sri Lanka. The SANASA Development
Bank Limited (SDBL) was recently chosen by the Forbes magazine USA as
one of the world’s top microfinance institutions. Amongst the 641
microfinance providers, SDBL is the only microfinance provider in Sri
Lanka ranked within the top 50 MFI’s.
This training programme was conducted at SANASA Campus in Kegalle as
a residential workshop from July 17 to August 5.

Manager (International Relations), Samadani Kiriwandeniya and Senior
Manager (Development Finance and Projects), Nandani Gunasekera , and
other Senior officials of SDBL at a reception held in Mount Lavinia
