Carsons convention

Industrial attachment for present day undergraduates is the key
component which make them employable, Dr B.P. Jayaweera, Wayamba
University said at a press conference organised by Carson Cumberbatch
PLC at Galle Face Hotel Colombo on Wednesday to announce the third
annual undergraduate convention which will be held at the BMICH on
September 4.

He said that it was the research that was considered important
earlier but it is not so any more because the internships make them more
productive and employable.
He stated that none of the Wayamba university graduates have the
problem of unemployability.
Director Carsons Management Services Ajith Medis said Carson
Cumberbatch facilitates career guidance units of the national
universities in its efforts to develop much needed behavioral
competencies that would significantly help undergraduates while entering
the workplace focusing on entrepreneur skills, making a brand and
knowledge economy.Group HR Manager Carsons Bennett Patternott said the
third undergraduate Convention would bring 1000 undergraduates together
from all national universities in Sri Lanka and a panel of eminent
resource persons from the industry will share their experiences in their
chosen professions .
The theme of this year will be “Socio economic development through a
competent next generation.”
