People will not be fooled by traitors and conspirators - Healthcare Minister

"Lalkantha launched the most unsuccessful strike in Sri Lankan history on July 10 and is now trying to organise another similar strike with the support of Prabhakaran and the Opposition Leader," Healthcare and Nutrition Minister Nimal Siripala De Silva said.

"These three parties which represent the sacrilege alliance try to give oxygen to a dying Prabhakaran but the people of Sri Lanka will not let them to do so. The people will certainly not be fooled by these traitors and conspirators", the Minister said.

Minister De Silva was addressing a ceremony held at Embilipitiya recently. He said that the leadership of the Opposition Leader will end with the sure defeat at the upcoming North Central and Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council Election and the JVP will also further weaken because many more JVP MPs will join the JNP led by Wimal Weerawansha.

"The JNP will be further strengthened and the political journey of the JVP will see a sad end after the Provincial Council Election. The final result will be the death of Prabhakaran and freedom and prosperity to all Tamil speaking people.

The war heroes now in Mullaitivu and Kilinochchi will end the terrorism of Prabhakaran soon.

The working class of this country did not let down the war heroes and did not support the July 10 strike. It was a failed conspiracy," the Minister pointed out.

Minister De Silva stressed that the people living in North Central and Sabaragamuwa Provinces know the Government's various development drives such as Maga Neguma, Gama Neguma and many other development projects aimed at upgrading infrastructure facilities. Therefore no one will be able to fool them. The people are rallying around President Mahinda Rajapaksa because the Government gave them jobs.

The UNP did not give even a single job to a youth and hit them with sticks when they protested demanding for jobs.

"During the UNP regime a youth did not receive even a labourer's job and today the Government's development projects have reached all parts of Sri Lanka.

Today people are gathering around President Mahinda Rajapaksa because they have accepted the correct leadership of the President.

The people should understand that this election decides the future of Sri Lanka," the Minister said.
