President striving to eradicate terrorism

President Mahinda Rajapaksa has taken commendable moves to eradicate terrorism to protect the Motherland with the intention of restoring peace and prosperity, veteran sportsman and senior business personality Falcon International Chairperson Dr. M.G.M. Zurfick said.

Zurfick said that the Mahinda Chinthana national development concept comprises all development features needed for the sustainable development of the country. He described Mahinda Chinthana as a perfect development package for countries like Sri Lanka. The Government through Mahinda Chintana is aiming to develop a spiritually developed society while economically developing the country.

The masses are experiencing the privileges of real values of the democracy only under President Mahinda Rajapaksa's Government, Zurfick added.

He said that the Mahinda Chinthana is a well formulated development concept comprising all principles essential to the country's future development.

Veteran UNP Parliamentarians such as Karu Jayasuriya, Rajitha Senaratne and several others left the party and joined the Government realising the real nature of Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe.

There are many persons attempting to tarnish the image of President Mahinda Rajapaksa and the Government by spreading rumours against the Government and President Mahinda Rajapaksa, he alleged.

Several strikes and anti-Government propaganda activities organised by the UNP ended in failure as the masses refrained from supporting them.

The ordinary people who enjoy various benefits under the present Government wanted to support the Government. If the masses were against the President Mahinda Rajapaksa they would have taken to the streets on July 10.

But they refrained because they were supporting the President - they did not want to obstruct the Government's activities.

The business community in Colombo is fully supportive of the President as massive development projects are being carried out by the Government, he said.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa is doing his best for the country and engaged in a war to eradicate terrorism and restore peace and prosperity, he remarked.
