Dialog GSM-Daily News begin news alert service
COLOMBO: Dialog GSM and the Daily News yesterday began their breaking
news service at exactly 8.08 a.m. An agreement on this service was
signed yesterday at Lake House.
During the first month, the service will be free to subscribers.
Dialog GSM customers can subscribe to the service by typing ACT DNEWS
and sending a SMS to 678. The service will be activated within four
hours.
News headlines can be accessed by customers in their preferred method
via SMS or IVR.
In order to access the headlines via IVR customers can dial 555 to
access Breaking News in Sinhala or Tamil, or dial 777 to access Breaking
News in English. Group Chief Marketing Officer, Dialog Telekom Nushad
Perera said "With the Ceylon Daily News getting on board with the Dialog
Breaking News service we have further complemented our balanced approach
to providing news on the phone, as it happens, when it happens.
The Daily News is recognised as an authentic source of news and ANCL
