MCA Academy tourney from August 9

The 3rd MCA Cricket Academy Invitation 30 overs a side Cricket Tournament will be held from August 9 to 24, 2008.

Previously the tournament was conducted in two segments for U-15 and U-13, but this year it will be only U-13, as the U-15's will be occupied with Inter School matches.

The 14 teams invited and their participation confirmed, were pooled into two groups as follows:

Group "A": MCA Cricket Academy "Blue" and "Red", Brendon School of Cricket, Ragama Cricket Academy, Malay Cricket Academy, Roy Dias School of Cricket and Lankan Junior Cricket Academy.

Group "B": MCA Cricket Academy "White", CCC School of Cricket, Moratuwa School of Cricket (last year's runners up). Sajeewa School of Cricket, Panadura Cricket School, SSC Cricket Academy and SR Cricket Academy.

The round robin stage of the tournament consisting 42 matches (all half day matches) will be held from 9 to 21 August at the MCA, Shalika and NSCA Ratmalana.

The morning matches will be from 8.45 am to 1.05 pm. and the afternoon matches will be from 1.40 pm to 6.00 pm.
