Brazilian handball player fails doping test
The Brazilian Olympic Committee said Tuesday that handball player
Jaqson Kojoroski was dropped from the team after failing a doping test
before heading to Beijing.
The committee said Kojoroski was taken off the squad before the July
27 deadline to present the final roster to the International Olympic
Committee and didn't travel to China, according to spokesman Claudio
Motta.
Even though the results were for known for some time, the committee
did not announce Kojoroski's positive result until after the Brazilian
handball confederation published a statement on its Web site late Monday
saying the he had been replaced on the roster.
Kojoroski, who will be replaced by Alexandre Rodrigues, had been
training with the squad in Japan.
