Air Force in innings win over Police

Sri Lanka Air Force Sports Club produced a fine all round performance to beat Sri Lanka Police Sports Club outright by an innings and 33 runs in their SLC under 23 division one tournament match concluded at the Police Park yesterday.

Air Force SC: 294 for 9 decl

Police SC: 116 (E. Harshaka 36, A. Karunaratne 5 for 38, C. Premaratne 2 for 8) and 145 (R. Kumara 44, G. Prasanga 40, A. Eranga 4 for 10, C. Premaratne 4 for 70).

Ranesh takes 7/37

Leg spinner Ranesh Perera returned excellent figures of seven wickets for 37 to help Ragama CC beat Panadura SC on the first innings in their SLC under 23 division one tournament match concluded at Kandana yesterday.

Ragama CC: 242 and 226 for 8 (T. Waduge 83, H. Vithana 45, S. Soysa 42, E. Pushpakumara 5 for 59) Panadura SC: 158 (A. Fernando 47, R. Perera 7 for 37, T. Waduge 2 for 18).

Easy for Schools under 20

Two good knocks from Ashan Priyanjan (80) and Madawa Warnapura (86) helped the Schools under 20 team register an easy first innings victory over Tamil Union in their SLC under 23 division one tournament match concluded at the P. Saravanamuttu Stadium yesterday.

Tamil Union: 137 and 197 for 9 (S. Chaturanga 67, C. Serasinghe 30, M. Lakmal 35, I. Udana 2 or 51, I. Jayaratne 3 for 50, S. Pathirana 2 for 58).

Schools under 20: 282 for 4 decl (M. Warnapura 86, U. Peiris 40 n.o, S. Chaturanga 2 for 48).

Moratuwa SC stun Colts

Charinda Fernando and Pathum de Mel shared nine wickets between them to give Moratuwa SC an upset first innings victory over Colts CC in their SLC under 23 division one tournament match concluded at Havelock Park yesterday.

Moratuwa SC: 216 and 127 (N. Priyanjana 26, N. Praboda 28, A. Perera 3 for 30, R. Weerasinghe 3 for 34, L. Rodrigo 3 for 29).

Colts CC: 175 (A. Perera 45, R. Weerasinghe 26, L. Rodrigo 27, C. Fernando 4 for 66, P. de Mel 5 for 77) and 16 for 1.

Chilaw Marians triumph

Chilaw Marians SC went through some anxious moments before registering a close first innings victory over Moors SC in their SLC under 23 division one tournament match concluded at Braybrooke Place yesterday.

Chilaw Marians SC: 386

Moors SC: 352 (C. Bandara 73, H. Silva 57, D. Randhika 45, C. Peiris 44, C. de Silva 4 for 119, M. Gunatilleke 3 for 60).

No decision

NCC were held to a no decision by Kandy YCC in their rain hit SLC under 23 division one tournament fixture concluded at Maitland Place yesterday.

Kandy YCC: 175

NCC: 131 for 5 (R. Mendis 37, E. Gangoda 31 n.o, D. Mapa 24).
